I have been writing a lot about paper goods lately. Well, I do have a fetish for anything that involves paper – paper craft, origami, scrapbooking, and the list goes on. So, I have to tell you all about Sky Goodies, which creates unique products with paper.
What’s different? The company uses paper to make funky items like typewriter calendars, television photo frames and pen-stands. Rather than selling ready products, the company sends you a DIY (do-it-yourself) kit, with printed, pre-cut and pre-creased sheets, which you can assemble yourself.
Couple Amit Gudibanda and Misha Gudibanda are the creators of these products, which have a kitsch like appeal. For the duo who run a design shop, Sky Design (in Mumbai), the idea was to create products that give them a break from the corporate design assignments, they typically work on.
Launched, a few months ago, Misha claims the response to their paper goods has been overwhelming. We’re told they are coming with a whole new creative range. Can’t wait to see the camera photo frames and matchbox visiting card holders, which they are adding to their kitty!
You would think these products are ideal for kids, who love to get crafty, but honestly, I’m sure adults won’t mind putting together a kit. After all, their products are pretty purposeful.
My favourite is the DIY printable typewriter calendar, which is apparently a bestseller. The kit comes with 12-month date cards that sit neatly inside the typewriter. The red goodies carrier truck is a pretty addition to the work desk too, allowing you to hold stationery, visiting cards and other paraphernalia.
They’re sponsoring a red goodies truck kit, as a giveaway for one lucky winner. Simply email us with what new designs you would like to see from Sky Goodies.
Their products are available in some stores in Mumbai, Surat and Bangalore. Or you can buy them online at www.in.skygoodies.co
